500 Management LLCExplore a partnership

Technical potential.
A commercial path forward.

For inventors, universities and technology teams with something valuable to bring to market. We consider the capital, commercial relationships and operating work needed to build a business around it.

Introduce an opportunity

Start with a non-confidential overview. No technical secrets needed.

Who is the customer? What is the route to market? What will it take to deliver?

The work between
a prototype and a business.

A promising technology still needs a customer, a route to market and an organization capable of delivering it. 500 Management looks at those commercial and operating questions alongside the capital required.

Depending on the opportunity, that may include business development, distribution relationships, financial planning, operating infrastructure and forming a company around the product or intellectual property.

Benjamin Serkes focuses on commercial opportunities, capital and partnerships. Ben Kram brings financial analysis, operating oversight and business strategy. Meet the partners.

What we’re interested in.

University-developed technologies, intellectual property, prototypes and products that have demonstrated technical potential but have not yet been fully commercialized.

We are open to relationships with inventors, founders, university technology-transfer offices and existing companies. Areas of interest include:

  • Emerging technologies
  • Healthcare & life sciences
  • Manufacturing & industrial products
  • Infrastructure & business services

These are areas of interest, not a claim of technical or regulatory expertise in every field.

A structure that fits
the opportunity.

Possible structures include intellectual-property licensing, joint ventures, direct equity investment or forming a new company. We consider what the technology needs, the people involved and the rights available before discussing terms.

There is no standard ownership split. Any proposal depends on review, diligence and a written agreement. Our company overview explains the current capital range and broader operating approach.

Start with the
commercial opportunity.

A useful introduction explains what the technology does, who it could serve, its current stage and the type of partnership being considered. Include any public information or non-confidential summary available.

Send a short introduction through the website. The partners will review it and, if there is a potential fit, arrange a conversation.

Should I send patent documents or technical details?

Only share information that is already public or that you are authorized to disclose without a confidentiality agreement. Please do not send trade secrets or confidential research in an initial introduction. A separate agreement can be discussed if appropriate.

Does the technology need revenue already?

No. 500 Management is also interested in prototypes and technically promising intellectual property that need a path to commercialization. The initial review considers the technology’s stage, commercial potential and support required.

Can a university technology-transfer office reach out?

Yes. The partners are actively interested in relationships with universities and technology-transfer organizations around promising intellectual property and commercialization opportunities.
